Introducing Exploring with Rob

Stories, Photographs, and Adventures Beyond the Destination

Over the years I’ve been fortunate to visit incredible destinations throughout North America, Europe and Central America. Rather than condensing each trip into a single travel report, Exploring with Rob will take a different approach. Every destination, landmark, historic site, national park, and unexpected detour has its own story to tell. Some journeys unfolded exactly as planned. Others took surprising turns that became unforgettable adventures of their own.

Welcome to Exploring with Rob!

For as long as I can remember, photography has been my way of preserving memories. Whether capturing the energy of a live concert through Long Island Sounds & Beyond or photographing breathtaking landscapes thousands of miles from home, I’ve always believed that the best images are more than just pictures—they are reminders of moments, experiences, and stories that deserve to be shared.

This website was created to showcase those experiences.

Unlike a traditional travel guide, Exploring with Rob is not about simply listing attractions, ranking destinations, or telling you where you “must go.” Instead, it is about the moments that make travel meaningful—the history behind a landmark, the unexpected discoveries along the way, and the memories created while exploring somewhere new.

Some destinations are too special to be contained within a single article.

A visit to Paris, France, for example, becomes an entire journey of its own. From the iconic Eiffel Tower and the beauty of the River Seine to the mysterious depths of the Paris Catacombs, historic cemeteries, world-renowned museums, magnificent castles, and the vineyards of Champagne country, each experience offers its own story, perspective, and collection of photographs.

The same can be said for Portugal, where my adventures extended beyond Lisbon. Exploring this incredible country included visits to the coastal town of Nazaré, the medieval village of Óbidos, the spiritual destination of Fátima, and the historic city of Porto. Each location offered a unique glimpse into Portugal’s culture, history, architecture, and people.

Some adventures have taken me into the heart of nature.

From the vast landscapes of Alaska, including Fairbanks, North Pole, Denali, and Anchorage, to the breathtaking beauty of Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks, these destinations provided unforgettable opportunities to experience some of the most incredible scenery our world has to offer.

Other journeys brought me closer to different cultures and unforgettable adventures throughout Mexico and Central America. From snorkeling the crystal-clear waters of Xel-Há and parasailing along the coast of Mexico to exploring Costa Rica’s natural beauty through Manuel Antonio National Park, zip-lining adventures, and stays such as Mango Moon Resort, each destination offered a different perspective on the world around us.

The American Southwest provided another collection of remarkable experiences. From the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta and the peaceful surroundings of Ten Thousand Waves Spa to Santa Fe’s vibrant marketplace, Taos Pueblo, Bishop’s Lodge, and the unusual geological formations of Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks, these journeys showcased the incredible diversity found throughout our own country.

There are also the unexpected stories—the adventures that didn’t necessarily go according to plan but became some of the most memorable.

A planned cruise to Bermuda aboard Carnival Cruise Line became one of those moments. Due to weather conditions and rough seas, we were unable to reach our intended destination. While disappointing at first, the journey took an unexpected turn when we disembarked along the South Carolina coast and discovered the beauty and history of the Charleston area, including a visit to the remarkable Magnolia Plantation.

Sometimes the best travel stories are not about where you intended to go.

They’re about where the journey takes you.

Future stories will also explore destinations throughout the United States, including Austin, Texas, Portland, Seattle, Tucson, San Diego, La Jolla, San Francisco, and many more places that have left an impression through my camera lens.

Most importantly, Exploring with Rob is about curiosity.

It’s about standing beneath towering trees in a national park, walking through centuries-old European streets, discovering hidden corners of historic cities, experiencing different cultures, and appreciating the unexpected moments that make every journey unique.

Every photograph has a story.

Every destination has a history.

Every adventure leaves behind a memory.

I invite you to join me as we explore the places I’ve been fortunate enough to experience—and perhaps discover inspiration for your own adventures along the way.

Welcome to Exploring with Rob.
